New house

so i'm finally putting pictures up of our new house. yay. so here it is. isn't it cute? I found a job too! one of the sams clubs around here had a full-time baker postion open so i took it. my first day was last saturday. it is going well except for Rusty not liking being left home alone from 8am to 6pm every day. but she will get used to it. but she keeps following me around the house today since it's my day off. she wants constant attention! oh well. the mosquitos also came out this week. and they are the mosquitos from hell. there are swarms of them and their bites itch like nothing else. and they leave huge welts even if you don't scratch it. so i had to gog buy bug spray today because they got me 8 times in the last 2 days and cortisone cream doesn't stop the itch! it's awful but hopefully the spray will help. so that's it for now. oh and as if there aren't enough cars in the driveway in the pictures, we just bought another one. this one is fun though, it's a 1964 VW Bus that Nick and I are going to restore, we are really excited about working on it. We pick it up tonight so I will put up pictures soon.
p.s. we have 2 more bedrooms in the house but there are not any pictures of them because they are still messy with moving stuff.

ANTS

I got bit by fire ants today. and oh my gosh it stinking burns. So there i was minding my own business, standing in my own backyard watching Nick dig a hole. i was the moral support, of course :) and i was lost in thought when all the sudden my foot starts burning. i couldn't figure out why until i looked down and what do you know i was accidentaly standing right next to this ant hill. how nice. so the moral of the story. watch where you stand and get some heavy duty ant spray. die ants die.

move!

hello everyone. it has been so long since i last posted but that is because we moved! yep the army told us on thursday 22feb. that we were moving the next friday to san antonio texas!!! we were planning the move for may but the army bumped up the date.do you know how hard it is to move in a week? i do now! so after a week of furiously packing, trying to work and clear the base in Oklahoma, my mom flying in to help drive down there, an 8 hour drive, three days of living in a hotel while the dog lived in the car because she could't come in the hotel and searching for a place to live, we are finally moved in! we found a brand new 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house with a porch, garage, backyard, and my favorite part: a gas stove!it is actually in a suburb of san antonio called converse (ya like the shoe, isn't that cute?) but its only about 10-15 minutes away from anywhere we might need to go. so not too bad, we would probably spend that much time in traffic if we lived in the city anyway. so for the next year of our lives we will be living here while Nick goes to nursing school. today was his first day of class so we will see how it goes. I transfered down here with Sam's club and should start this coming monday at one close by. i have already been lost once trying to drive around this city and had to have my mom mapquest me home (which was hard because our tract isn't on mapquest since it's brand new.) but i can now sucessfully make it to the base and back. but that's about the only place i know how to get to so the next few weeks should be interesting. I am going to try and take some pictures and put them up on here but i have to find the digital camera first. i think it's in one of the boxes somewhere...

why i'm not allowed to have sharp objects and other dangerous things

i lit myself on fire. yep. half of my forearm was on fire yesterday. i didnt hurt myself. i had two long sleeves shirts on but that is how accident prone i actually am. I was sewing backdrops for Nick so he could take some pictures and there were a few strings let on the fabric when i was done so i decided to burn them off. bad idea. it got the strings off but apparently whatever my sweater was made out of was very flammable because i got it to close to one of the strings and poof! my sleeve was on fire. i blew it out and it stopped really quickly but seeing your arm on fire is a little crazy...no wonder nick doesn't like to be in the kitchen when i am cooking. there are sharp objects and fire in there. so that was my excitment for the day. i do have to brag on my husband a little though because he is so sweet. as all of you know it was valentines day yesterday and we had decided not to get gifts for each other because i think it is an over rated holiday anyway. i did ask for flowers though because i like to get flowers and im starting to think holidays are going to have to be my excuse to get them since i hadn't had an lately. anyway so nick comes home from work with a 1/2 dozen roses and a giant pot. my first thought was that it was a little big for 6 flowers but then ilooked in the ot and found flower seeds waiting to be planted. in the card he said: i love you so much, i hope that the roses show you that this week and that the potted flowers can remind you of that for many more seasons. how sweet is that? i love my husband. he is great.

Mysteries

So I have these things that i just can't figure out. The first one is my new orbit gum. it's a new flavor called mint mohito. Now i have tried 5 pieces of gum from this pack and i still can not figure out if i like the flavor! it's different but i can't decide if it's different good or different bad. who knows. the second thing i can't figure out is how my dog has any hair left on her entire body. i have never seen a dog shed like she does. i have been vacuuming everyday for the past few days and i have had to clean out the tank every time. how gross is that? so does anyone have any shedding cures because i have no idea. my poor black couch looks like i never clean it. i gave rusty a bath and then had to clean the bathtub because there were chunks of hair in it. gross.

we did it!

ok so its bee forever sinc i've been on the computer but i am now so i figured i better write. we signed the new contract with the army on friday so it's official!they took pictures from the re-enlistment and promotion but nick doesn't have them yet so as soon as i get them i will put them up. they made me come stand in front of the entire formation with nick which sucked because i didn't want to have to be in front of everyone but at least i could see from there. After the ceremony they made nick get down and do 50 push-ups while we all got to sit around and watch. they took ppictures of that too so hopefully they turned out good. Sunday we went to some friends house for the superbowl and we took Rusty with us to play with their 2 dogs. Rusty is scared to death of dogs so it was a pretty funny night. She would not look at the other dogs, hoping that if she couldn't see thme maybe they would go away. it didn't work for her but she sure tried. She would start crying every time they tried to play with her too. hopefully she will get over it someday. we'll see. i was so happy yesterday too because i finally found nick's valentine's day present. i knew what i wanted but seeing as how i live in Lawton, Oklahoma and only have wal mart and the px to shop at, i could not find what i wanted. but i finally did! yay! i still cant find fuel for my fondue pot though. that might have to wait until we move to a bigger city. who knows. so that's it for now. i gotta go to work.
